I believe that good pottery serves to enhance a person's daily experience of eating and drinking. A good pot makes for an interesting visual and tactile experience while fulfilling its primary role as a vessel.

 

I use terra sigillata as a medium in my work to achieve an overall softness in appearance and touch. Through the use of carving and sgraffito techniques, I seek to create an interesting level of surface depth in each pot. The shapes and proportions of my pots are often inspired by local flora and the human body.
